If you’ve ever used Propolis, you’ll know it’s the stuff of legends. It’s one of the best medicinal remedies, treating everything from candida and throat infections to cuts, scrapes, ulcers and bacterial ailments. We’re not saying it’s a miracle cure, but if you wanted to call it that, we doubt anybody would disagree.
As with every great discovery, there’s a story behind how this sticky brown multi-purpose goop came to be. It starts with two passionate and creative inventors in the southernmost part of Africa. This is a place where nature provides, and the African Bee is a perfect example of a natural provider. These creatures work as a team to create a powerful sealant that seals their hives and helps repair them – and plot twist, Co-Owner Ryno Barnes just happens to be a capable and passionate beekeeper with years of experience working in the family business.
So, it all began…
Year after year, Ryno would see how much Propolis was harvested each season. Knowing the value of this multi-purpose rezin, first-hand, he immediately started thinking about better ways to use its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. After seeing how effective it could be (dare we say, the bees knees?), he started experimenting with tincture formulas, in 2016.
Fast forward through months of research and product testing, and he’d found a perfectly balanced tincture made from raw, organic Propolis – straight from the family farm. It could be used as both a beauty and wellness formula, topically or intravenously. This made it a safe, effective and powerful product that could really benefit people. There was clearly a need for Propolis but Ryno also needed the skills of a charismatic people-person to help him get it to market.
Enter business-savvy Marketing Director and Co-Owner, Amori Birch, who partnered with Ryno to help create a powerful team that would rebrand and bring this product to life.

Today, Amori builds meaningful relationships with Propolis’ happy clients and Ryno continues harvesting and refining the Propolis formula. Together, this dynamic duo are harnessing nature to heal the world – one less cut, infection and blemish at a time.
